Sex and Sours was a fast and fun read that was pretty well-depicted that I felt totally immersed in the story. The story was pretty captivating dotted sexy steamy scenes.
Opposites most definitely attract and that is exactly what happens between Tiffany, head bartender, and Sam the new owner of the Chicago bar. This is a classic tale of people who can't stand to be in each other presence however eventually a change of events take place as they begin to enjoy each other's company and start spending more time together. Highly recommended for romantic lovers !! Can't wait to read the next book. I would like to Thank Dani McLean and BookSirens for the opportunity to read this book Rating: This is my first book in the series, however, each story is standalone. Reine is freshly released from prison and comes to visit her daughter, Eva at the home of Marcus and Charlotte O'Connell. Eva was adopted by O'Connell at Reine's request in order to keep her out of the foster care system and being adopted by strangers and perhaps being lost to Reine forever. The story grabs your attention from the onset, a story that gets you thinking and wields your emotions in such a way that deep-rooted emotions of frustration and rage are felt. It is truly unfair how people in positions can get away with things. I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I would like to thank Lorhainne Eckhart and BookSirens for this opportunity to read this book. Rating: A truly exciting read !! It is a tale of 3 sisters and how the war turns their lives around, more than each of them could ever envision.
Florence the youngest tends to the gardens and livestock and cooks delicious meals. Helene is a nurse and works for the local doctor in a cottage hospital. Elise helps the resistance and runs the village cafe. A totally engrossing book about how the war affected the village and this family in particular. This book is part of a trilogy and a very exciting read indeed. It kept me coming back to find out what happens next in the story of these 3 sisters. Highly recommended !! Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. Rating: A remarkably well-written novel, entertaining and insightful, it grabbed my attention and kept me wanting more.
Set in Sweden, this novel is fast-paced and thought-provoking. We are introduced to three black women who in their quest for a better life find themselves in questionable situations. The main characters, Kemi, a high-achieving marketing executive, Brittany, the drop-dead gorgeous flight attendant, and finally Muna a heartbroken refuge. The characters are well narrated and relatable, their painful struggles felt so real. Highly recommended. Rating: A truly thought-provoking book, in which two women Stella and Connie are connected to each other. Stella and Connie are total strangers brought together by unexpected events. The stories of both Stella and Connie have a parallel in their lives, while Stella having given up much in her life in caring for her mother and Connie sacrificed her career to support her husband and kids.
