This is an excellent one-stop guide to anyone embarking on a journey of intermittent fasting. Although I've been practicing intermittent fasting for some time and have reaped the many benefits, I still found this book to be a remarkably helpful refresher.
This book gives a clear rationale and even explains the science behind intermittent fasting. The layout of the book is reader-friendly and provides loads of useful information. This is an easy to read resource for people who are keen to learn more about intermittent fasting. Included in this book, are also the details of the different types of fasting plans, the benefits of each plan, crucial recommendations of diet and exercise to adhere to. I would like to thank Dr. Janet Bond Brill, For Dummies (Wiley), and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Summary: Recommended for anyone considering embarking on a journey of intermittent fasting Well written, with lots of useful information, laid out in an easy-reference format. Rating: The story is set in the deep remote backwoods of Sweden, having heard stories about the small mining town, Alice returns to the small and secluded village of Silvertjarn, where everyone in it mysteriously disappeared in 1959. The villagers are a part of her lineage on her grandmother's side of the family.
This books has eeriness and creepiness, oozing out of it, Sten provides vivid descriptions that gave me goosebumps !! Alice travels to the isolated village with a small film crew. They investigate the buildings that have been abandoned for over 60 years, but strange things begin happening and they realize that they might not be alone in the town. Narrated in dual timelines of the 1950s before the disappearance and the present time film crew, the story unfolds rather rapidly and gets more creepy as it goes. I couldn't put it down! There are a couple of twists at the end that give a bit of surprise to the ending. I would like to thank Camilla Sten, St Martin's Press, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Summary: Well written, with a unique plot. Enjoyed this book because it was different then the typical haunting or horror story. Rating: Having lost so much, Zoey returns to her family vacation home off the island of Cape Cod to recover. She had recently been laid off from her job as a librarian and having lost all her life savings due to poor investment choices, she was also on the brink of losing her townhouse. In addition, the death of her parents and her older sister leaves Zoey emotionally drained
The novel centers around family values and how much each member of the family is willing to sacrifice for each other. In addition to the main plot of the story, Gabi, Zoey's niece comes to stay at the cottage while her father was in rehab and she had lost her mother to cancer. As the only surviving relative of the Winslow family, Zoey's cousin, Mark is set to inherit Aunt Ivy’s magnificent house when she passes away, as stipulated by her father’s iron-clad will. Eager to renovate the house and lease it out to cover his mounting debts, Mark is trying his best to justify his reasoning as to why Aunt Sylvia should be moved into an assisted living facility. However, Zoey is highly suspicious of Mark. I would like to thank Kristin Harper, Bookouture Publishers, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Paige and Nick are a happily married couple who want to start a family. They are thrilled when Paige becomes pregnant. However, later in the pregnancy, Paige discovers she has a rare heart condition that may act up towards the end of the pregnancy and that they may lose their longed-for child. Highly emotional and a well-written novel, the story is narrated in alternating perceptive of Nick and Paige. A heartbreaking and intensely moving story that will stay with you long after you have finished reading this novel. A long and happy marriage comes to a crashing end when Beth finds out about her husband, Howard's affair with their next door neighbour, Gina. The characters were so relatable and real. The housewives personalities, dilemmas and struggles authentic. I loved Snow's writing style, where she covers both Beth's and Gina's point of view, making this novel a true winner. I would like to thank Jennifer Snow and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Summary: An entertaining read, full of humor, apprehension, and mystery. Highly recommended !! Rating: Bitterroot Lake is a novel of events that happened in the past. Sarah, who is recently widowed returns to her childhood home and reconnects with the past to make good with her present.
25 years an assault occurs, this is followed by a fatal traffic accident. Sarah moves away after these incidents. The characters are pretty easy to relate to and quite relatable. Filled with grief, an element of mystery, and tragedy, I struggled to continue reading some parts of this novel. Overall the plot was good and starts out grabbing your attention. Most of this book is about Sarah's dreams and some strange visitations that she encounters. I would like to thank Alicia Beckman, Crooked Lane Books, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. Summary: A well-written novel with a strange twist at the end. Rating: |
